A second generation family farm in
the magnificent black dirt region of Pine Island
in the Town of Warwick in Orange County, NY. Transitioned
from the typical onion farm to a diverse operation
consisting of 150 acres of fertile muck soil. We
grow over 250 varieties of produce each year utilizing
ecologically friendly and environmentally sound
practices combined with progressive attitudes and
old-fashioned family values creating a friendly
atmosphere of warmth and welcome. Known for our
expertise in low-income, ethnic markets we continually
strive to uphold the high levels of quality and
diversity our customers have come to know and expect
from us. We are able to custom grow many special
ethnic varieties of produce for our CSA clients
and farmers markets and are working to offer this
unique feature of our farm to other clients as well |
Community Supported Agriculture
2008 marks our tenth year of CSA farming. Beginning
in 1999 with 12 customers our client base has grown to
150 members. Our member base consists of 15 in Brooklyn,
100 individuals in our hometown and clients in various
corporate headquarters. This client base has grown solely
by word of mouth as a result of the high quality of service
and product we offer. Farmers
Markets
Customers at our markets are treated to the highest
quality produce usually picked within 24 hours of delivery.
It is not unusual for our customers at our local markets
to receive squash blossoms and sweet corn picked that
very morning. Our displays are overflowing with varieties
of radishes, squashes, tomatoes, potatoes and garlic grown
from seed and sets we save and/or purchase from around
the world. Many of our varieties are heirlooms and all
of our selections are chosen for their flavor first. Over
50 varieties of chilies and 20 varieties of garlic are
just some of the mouth watering delicacies grown in our
fertile soil. If that isn't enough to entice you we have
many varieties of herbs available also: cilantro, culantro,
chives, parsley, rosemary, pepicha, papallo, thymes, lemon
grass, lemon verbena, sages, mints, basils lemon, lime,
Italian, African Blue, lettuce leaf, thai, cinnamon, purple
just to name a few! Let's see there's the greens, sweet
tender lettuces every hue of red and green, mustard greens
from mild to hot and zesty as my Dad would say! Turnips,
carrots-purple, red and yellow; beets red, white, striped
and golden; cauliflower green, purple and white; broccoli,
brussel sprouts, onions, cabbage American and Asian; sweet,
